In 1995, with ‘La Cité aux 5 clés’ on Bruxelles Capitale, the studio took the form of an outside-broadcast vehicle. This heritage quiz took us into the city to meet its places and people. Radio also grew out of what happened on location, between the planned stops.
The format moved to La Première in 1999. A different station, the same pleasure in working out in the field.
From 2000 to 2004, I hosted the Bruxelles Capitale breakfast show from 6.30 to 9. A busy newsroom, daily news and strong ties to Brussels shaped the programme.
From 2004 to 2007, the story continued with VivaCité and Télé Bruxelles. Cameras came into the studio. Working with pictures became part of the job, while keeping the direct connection that makes radio special.
